Different Types of Cabling

Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 7 are all types of fiber optic cable. Each type has its own properties that make it ideal

for certain applications.

Cat 5e

This cable has been around since 1994 and is commonly used in small business environments where space is limited.

Cat 6

Similar to Cat 5e but with even higher speeds than its predecessor due to increased bandwidths available at higher speeds.

Cat 7

A newer version uses larger diameter cores which allow for low distances between connections without any loss in performance.

Data Rooms and Server Rooms

Data rooms and server rooms are used for a variety of purposes, including security and data storage. In a data room, employees must have permission from the IT department before they can enter.

The server room is where your company's computers are stored. It has a higher level of security than other areas in your building because it houses valuable information that could be stolen or destroyed if there were an attack on the building itself.

Fiber Optic Cabling and Termination

Fiber optic cables are made up of glass or plastic fibers, which transmit digital data. They are used to transmit digital data over long distances and can be used in building security systems, fiber optic LANs (local area networks), and more.

Fiber optics have been in use since the late 1800s when Alexander Graham Bell

demonstrated his invention for transmitting telephone calls between two points through thin strands strung between poles on opposite sides of an open area called a "fringe." The invention was originally meant for military communications, but soon after its invention it began being used commercially as well as socially-for example: telephones became so popular that they became obsolete by the early 20th century; then came radio broadcasting which further pushed aside phone lines; now we have smartphones!
